Pump Operator Skill Essentials Training

Pump Operator Skill Essentials Training
The Hampshire County Fire Defense Association in conjunction with FDSS present the second offering of Pump Operator Skill Essentials. This program provides pump operators at all levels with real world pump operations training in managing multiple hose lines on the fireground. The program is an all practical, hands on platform that replicates the first 45 minutes of a large fire.

The program will include pump operations upon initial arrival, transitioning to supplied water and management of up to 5 hand lines. Students will gain experience at identifying, prioritizing and managing evens such as nozzles opening and closing, kinks, catastrophic line failure, water supply fluctuations transitioning to and from the apparatus tank water and other events that challenge pump operators on the fireground.

This program has been proven to be a benefit to pump operators at any skill or experience level. The class format is one instructor to one student. Each student will operate a pump flowing up to 1,000 GPM for at least 35 minutes.

FDSS Instructors are highly respected senior instructors and fire officers representing over 150 years of experience. These Instructors will be using FD International world class pump training technology. Additional program information may be obtained at FDSSNE.COM

Students must preregister for this program through HCFDA . Upon acceptance they will be assigned a training time. Contact dnichols@northamptonme.gov
